A 60th Birthday Card
It was my mums 60th birthday a few weeks so I wanted to make her an extra special card, she is after all, a card maker and the reason I started crafting in the first place (no pressure!). I’d seen the style of card I wanted to make and found a youtube instruction video to follow for the measurements and construction (find it here). The style of card is called Twist and Pop Up, for the design I went straight to the Tea Room Suite from Stampin’ Up! . I knew before I had even started that was the suite I was wanted to use.
I started with a Rich Razzleberry card base and chose the butterfly print designer series paper as my main coordinating colours, you can see how perfectly the card stock and paper match, the best thing about Stampin Up products. to make this project extra special I used the Copper Foil sheets to add some decadence.
The detail on the floral accents was achieved by stamping the full image in Rich Razzleberry ink and then stamping the lined detail in versa mark and then heat embossing with the Copper Embossing Powder. I think this makes the details really pop.
The inside of the card that pops up creates another opportunity to create a beautiful canvas, I chose the same coordinating paper and the beautiful butterfly thinlet from the Springtime Impressions dies. Again I stamped and embossed some floral accents and also the numbers.
Here is a short video showing the opening and closing of the card and how effective the twist and pop up is. I really enjoyed making this card and I know it is a style that I will definitely try again. Perfect for any special occasion, it can be as elaborate or as simple as you like.
I do hope you enjoyed this blog post looking at this card in more detail, if you are interested in any of the products I used then please take a look at the product list below, click on any of them to go through to my shop to purchase them.
